National Wine Day 2025: maib and Mastercard support the celebration of Moldova’s traditions

Moldova celebrates its wine, and maib and Mastercard are once again joining as main partners of the new edition of National Wine Day to support winemaking traditions, innovation, and local culture.
Traditionally, the celebration will take place on the first weekend of October, on October 4–5, in the Great National Assembly Square, under the slogan “Our Amazingly Good Wine.” The event annually gathers tens of thousands of visitors and is considered the most important platform for promoting Moldovan wine both nationally and internationally.
This year’s edition will bring together over 100 winemakers and promises a complete experience: tastings of limited editions and established wines, masterclasses conducted by certified sommeliers, culinary demonstrations, as well as authentic encounters with producers sharing their stories directly with visitors.

Giorgi Shagidze, CEO of maib:
“At maib, we believe that National Wine Day is more than a celebration; it is a tribute to our country’s identity, the passion, and the work of generations of winemakers who have turned the vine into a symbol of Moldova. We are honored to be part of this story and to support local winemakers, who, through innovation and dedication, carry the fame of Moldovan wine beyond our borders. For us, being a main partner of this event means once again demonstrating our support for our winemaker clients, the community, and jointly building a future in which wine culture remains an authentic ambassador of the country.”

Irina Untila, Mastercard Country Manager in Moldova:
“Mastercard is a global brand, but in each market we strive to develop products, services, and initiatives that reflect the uniqueness of the country. In Moldova, this uniqueness is closely tied to winemaking, which has long been part of the cultural identity and the country’s calling card to the world. We are delighted that, together with our trusted partner maib, we have supported National Wine Day for many years, creating a complete, engaging, and exclusive experience for everyone discovering Moldova’s cultural traditions.”

As main partners, maib and Mastercard have prepared a special relaxation area with interactive activities, personalized experiences, and surprises for event visitors. To access all these experiences, visitors must hold a maib Mastercard.
The event is organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine, and more details about the event program can be accessed here.
Maib and Mastercard invite you to celebrate Moldovan Wine together on October 4–5 at the Great National Assembly Square!
