ANSA: products containing vegetable fats cannot be called brynza or cheese
The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) reminds that products containing vegetable fats cannot be called “brynza”, “cheese”, ‘butter’ or “milk”. According to Government Decree No. 158/2019, such products are not considered dairy products and must be labeled as “food products based on vegetable fats.” The use of the name “curd product” for products containing vegetable fat additives is also prohibited. ANSA emphasizes the obligation to label products correctly and urges consumers to read labels carefully. // 17.02.2026 — InfoMarket.
