The Moldovan Border Police and Customs Service have launched a 12-month pilot project to divide responsibilities at the Costești-Stânca border crossing point (road)
According to the Border Police, the official launch of the pilot project took place at the Costeşti-Stânca border crossing point in the presence of State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Diana Salcuţan, Head of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police Ruslan Galuşcă, and Director of the Customs Service Alexandru Iacub. The event was marked by the signing of a joint order approving the Interdepartmental Instructions. This act establishes a clear framework of powers and a transparent division of powers between the two bodies. The project is being implemented by mutual agreement between the Border Police and the Customs Service and aims to optimize control at border crossing points by simplifying inspection procedures and cross-border traffic. In this context, Interdepartmental Instructions on the procedure for delegating powers from the Border Police to the Customs Service were approved, establishing the powers, procedures, and responsibilities of the participating bodies. During the implementation of the project, every six months and upon its completion, the Border Police and the Customs Service will submit reports assessing the results achieved and the impact of the delegation of powers on the border control process. The project aims to contribute to the development of a modern and efficient border crossing experience for citizens. It is noted that thanks to the strengthening of cooperation between control authorities and the application of optimized procedures, the border crossing process is becoming smoother, more transparent, and more predictable. This approach reflects institutional openness to citizens' expectations and a constant commitment to ensuring an atmosphere of safety, comfort, and respect for every person arriving at the border. // 10.10.2025 – InfoMarket.
