Moldova accelerates digital integration and alignment of its systems with EU standards

This was stated by Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu during a meeting in Brussels with Roberto Viola, Director-General of the European Commission's Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CNECT) Directorate-General, held as part of the European Masters of Digital 2026 forum. The parties discussed our country's progress in the digital sphere and future priorities. Eugen Osmochescu noted that Moldova is accelerating digital integration and harmonization of its systems with EU standards, seeking observer status in the European Council on Artificial Intelligence and the European Council on Digital Services, and harmonizing national legislation with European legislation. According to him, through the national artificial intelligence antenna FAIMA, our country provides computing and training resources to researchers, startups, and government agencies. Moldova is implementing the Roam Like at Home system, developing a digital wallet in accordance with EU standards, and strengthening cybersecurity. “Moldova is strengthening its path to a modern and secure digital society,” emphasized Eugen Osmochescu. // 26.02.2026 – InfoMarket.
