ANSA prevented the sale of over 2.4 tons of substandard cookies
Inspectors from the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) prevented a large batch of substandard confectionery products from entering Moldovan retail outlets. During monitoring and control activities, 2,439.4 kg of cookies produced using substandard palm oil were identified and withdrawn from circulation. According to the agency, elevated levels of contaminants such as 3-MCPD (3-monochloropropanediol and fatty acid esters) were detected in the raw materials. These contaminants are strictly regulated by international standards due to their potential health risks with prolonged exposure. At the discretion of the product owner and under the strict supervision of agency inspectors, the products were sent for so-called "conditional disposal"—as animal feed. The economic agent was held accountable for the violations and received mandatory orders to correct the identified discrepancies. // 20.02.2026 — InfoMarket
