Reconstruction of the R34 road section between Hincesti, Leova, and Cantemir is delayed: 62% of the work has been completed

Prime Minister Dorin Recean inspected the progress of road infrastructure projects in the Leova district, including the restoration of the R34 Hincesti-Leova-Cantemir national road, which is behind schedule. The project involves the reconstruction of an 83 km section of road, with a contract value of over €56 million. To date, 62% of the work has been completed. The section currently under repair crosses the town of Hincesti, the village of Sarata-Galbena in the Hincesti district, and the town of Leova, the villages of Cneazevca, Sarata Noua, and Hanasenii Noi in the Leova district, and the town of Cantemir. The project is being implemented by the government through the National Roads Administration with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). It is noted that during discussions with the general contractor, subcontractor, and representatives of the National Roads Administration, a number of measures were identified that need to be implemented to complete the project. During his visit to the Leova district, Dorin Recean also took part in the opening of a repaired section of road in the village of Filipeni, where about 3.5 km of road was washed away last year as a result of heavy rains. //22.08.2025 – InfoMarket.
