The M3 Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti road construction project is 40% complete, 15% ahead of schedule

According to the State Roads Administration, one year after the start of construction works on the M3 Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti-Romania border road section (km 0.00-8.58), 5 km of the road have been built and asphalted from scratch, which is 60% of the total length of this section. A new 1.5-2 km section is planned to be paved in September. As of the end of August, the project implementation includes paving of 9 thousand tons of base layer, cement stabilization of 80 thousand square meters of road foundation for the base layer and cement stabilization of 25 thousand tons of aggregate. The construction of the bridge at km 2+965 is 50% complete; the elevated crossing at km 4+900 is 70% complete. As previously reported, the total cost of the Vulcanesti bypass road project is 21.2 million euros, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
