The EBRD will provide financial assistance to Moldova for the implementation of the Moldova Roads Rehabilitation V project.
The government approved at a meeting on Wednesday a decision on the ratification of a relevant loan agreement between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the implementation of the Moldova Roads Rehabilitation V project. The agreement provides for a 150-million-euro loan, which represents 50 per cent of the co-financing of the Moldova Roads Rehabilitation V project, the other part of the sum being allocated by the European Investment Bank. The allocated funds will be used to rehabilitate and modernize the M2 road (Chisinau district road, sector 2 - by widening it to 4 lanes, about 7 km). Also, about 85 km of the M1 road (border with Romania - Leuseni - Chisinau - Dubasari - border with Ukraine) will be rehabilitated. Rehabilitation and modernization of these sections represents an important step in the development of road infrastructure in Moldova. These two national roads are part of the TEN-T trans-European transport network, provide a link to Romania and directly to the European Union, develop trade and allow citizens to travel faster and safer anywhere. // 28.02.2024 - InfoMarket
