Moldova will optimize heavy traffic at customs by implementing an electronic queue planning system at the border.
The relevant measures were adopted by the Emergency Situations Commission at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean. In particular, it approved the necessary measures to optimize the intensive traffic at the customs and to facilitate the implementation of the Information System for planning electronic queues at the border. This system will allow carriers to avoid congestion at border crossing points and to plan the exact time of crossing the border online by registering in a virtual queue. In order to ensure efficient and safe traffic to cross the border in order to leave the country for cargo transport, the Emergency Situations Commission tasked the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development to find a sustainable information solution to optimize traffic, reduce queues at border crossing points and facilitate trade. It has been agreed that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development will conclude a contract for public procurement of such IT solution on the basis of direct negotiations within 2 working days at the expense of the department's funds for 2023, and the Ministry of Finance will ensure the reallocation of funds within the allocations approved for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development for 2023. The State Treasury will register public procurement contracts under the low-value procurement procedure on a priority basis. // 18.12.2023 - InfoMarket.
