According to the National Social Insurance Office, in January-July 2025, the revenues of the state social insurance budget (SSIB) exceeded 30.1 billion lei (62.2% of the annual plan). About 53% of SSIB revenues came from social insurance contributions paid by taxpayers – 16 million lei (57.1% of the annual plan). Compared to January-July 2024, these revenues increased by 13%. Transfers from the state budget amounted to 13.7 billion lei (45.4% of the total SSIB), including: 10 billion lei – for social assistance benefits and other payments covered by the state budget, 3.67 billion lei – to cover the temporary deficit of working capital of the state social insurance budget during the period of social benefits payments. Other revenues to the state social insurance budget amounted to 0.48 billion lei, with the bulk coming from a single tax levied on residents of information technology parks. The expenditures of the state social insurance budget in January-July 2025 amounted to 28.8 billion lei (59.5% of the annual amount for the current year). Compared to the same period in 2024, expenditures increased by 16.2%. In January-July 2025, revenues exceeded social security budget expenditures by 1.31 billion lei.
