From January 1, 2026, Moldova will be able to partially participate in the European Union's Creative Europe program

According to the Ministry of Culture, the European Commission has approved the signing and provisional application of an agreement between the EU and Moldova on our country's participation in the program. The signing of the document is scheduled for September 2 during the visit to Chisinau of European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture, and Sport Glenn Micallef. After signing, the agreement will be applied temporarily, allowing Moldovan cultural organizations to participate on an equal footing with organizations from EU countries in cross-border cooperation projects, creative mobility, and the promotion of cultural diversity. Moldova's full participation in the cross-sectoral and media components of the program will be possible after the harmonization of national legislation with the requirements of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive. The agreement will enter into force after its ratification by Moldova in accordance with national procedures. "Moldova's accession to the Creative Europe program is a historic opportunity for our culture and creative sector. Artists, organizations, and cultural institutions in our country will be able to compete and cooperate on an equal footing with European partners, receiving funding and expertise at the highest level. This is a concrete step towards the country's European cultural integration and support for artistic diversity and mobility," said Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan. // 30.07.2025 — InfoMarket
