The Moldovan Parliament has exempted from customs duties the import of 22 buses donated to Balti municipality by the Municipal Council of Resita (Romania)

In particular, MPs passed in the second reading a bill that provides for exemption from customs duties the import of 22 donated vehicles, spare parts, and components, without the right to dispose of them. The vehicles donated by Romania are an optimal solution for the effective organization of public transport in the municipality of Balti and for replenishing the local bus fleet. Currently, the authorities of the municipality of Balti do not have any buses, and those that operate in the municipality belong to private companies. In 2024, the municipal council of Balti approved a twinning agreement between the municipality of Balti and the municipality of Resita (Romania, Caraș-Severin County). The parliament also passed a bill exempting from customs duties the import of a vehicle donated to the center from the community of Sarata-Galbena in the Hincesti district. The institution provides support to socially vulnerable groups, including the elderly and children. // 11.07.2025 — InfoMarket.
