
Prime Minister Dorin Recean commended the constant support of all UN agencies in managing the Ukrainian refugee crisis and their integration into societies
At a meeting with the new UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova, Yesim Oruc Kaya, he also commended the sectoral assistance focused on the following areas: social protection, human rights, justice reform, energy efficiency, green economy, as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation. "Moldova is now on the European development path, and the wide range of cooperation programs with the UN and the assistance provided will contribute to the implementation of our modernization agenda, will help us to meet the requirements of the European legislation. In this sense, the sustainable development goals are very important in order to achieve really significant results,” Prime Minister said. Yesim Oruc Kaya stated that the organization's objectives and the national goals coincide, and the UN will continue to adjust its assistance to the current priorities of the authorities from Chisinau. At present, 25 UN funds, programmes and specialized agencies operate in Moldova, and among the most important activities are the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN-Moldova Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027, as well as the country programmes of each specialized organization. //26.08.2024 – InfoMarket
