2.2% of the population of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region, received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
Such data were presented by the Ministry of Health and the National Agency of Public Health during a press conference on Tuesday. In particular, to date, 416.8 thousand doses of the vaccine have been used, which is half of all doses delivered to the country. At the same time, more than 10% of the population received one dose of the vaccine, and 2.2% of the population of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region (total 3.5 million inhabitants), received both doses of the vaccine. As the head of the National Committee of Experts in the Field of Vaccination, Nineli Revenco, noted, Moldova is ahead of many countries in the region in terms of vaccination coverage, for example, Ukraine, where the first dose was received by 2.3% of the population, and both doses - 0.3%. In total, Moldova received 886.4 thousand doses of the vaccine, more than 90% of them are proportionally distributed among the country's medical institutions. Currently, vaccines are available in Moldova from the American Pfizer / BioNTech, the Swedish-British AstraZeneca, as well as the Chinese Sinopharm and Sinovac. Also, for those who received the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine, the second component is reserved. To get the vaccine, you need to see your family doctor or make an appointment online. Adult citizens can be vaccinated, if they have an identity card, vaccination during pregnancy and lactation is also not prohibited. As epidemiologist Alexei Ceban noted, since the beginning of the coronavirus vaccination campaign, only 0.33% of people who received the vaccine had certain adverse reactions, mostly mild, less often moderate. He assured that this is an adequate response of the body to the vaccine. Representatives of the Ministry of Health also said that another 45 thousand doses of the vaccine will be delivered to Moldova via the COVAX platform this week.// 01.06.2021 — InfoMarket
