
The first batch of rapid tests for the detection of antibodies to SARS Cov-2 virus (140 thousand tests) has arrived in Moldova.
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbraveanu said this at a press conference on December 31. In total, Moldova has purchased 300 thousand antigen tests. The use of rapid tests to detect antibodies to the SARS Cov-2 virus is included in the World Health Organization's recommendations and coronavirus diagnostic protocols. Let us remind that 12 million lei were allocated to purchase coronavirus tests. The minister also said that currently, about 30% of hospital beds are free and ready to receive citizens who are sick with COVID-19. Viorica Dumbraveanu noted that compared to the period of the pandemic outbreak, the situation is stabilizing. According to the ministry, over the past day, 3,194 tests were processed in Moldova, 990 cases of infection with the new coronavirus were confirmed, of which 16 cases were imported. As of this morning, 143,841 cases of COVID-19 were registered in the country. 2,910 patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection were hospitalized, of which 245 are in critical condition (51 patients are connected to ventilators). Another 1,038 people recovered. A total of 129,539 people were cured of COVID-19. 6,734 people with mild forms of COVID-19 are being treated at home, and 34,080 people are under medical supervision at home.
