
In Moldova, in the first quarter of 2022, 788 permits for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings were issued, which is 9.6% more than in the same period of 2021.
This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, noting that out of the total volume of permits issued, 563 (71.4% of the total) were for residential buildings, and 225 (28.6%) were for non-residential buildings. At the same time, the number of permits for the construction of residential buildings in January-March 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 17.5%, and for the construction of non-residential buildings - decreased by 6.2%. According to the NBS, in the first quarter of 2022, 362 permits were issued for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings in the cities of Moldova and 426 permits for construction in rural areas. Herewith, in comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of building permits issued in cities decreased by 8.6%, and in rural areas - increased by 31.9%. In January-March 2022, the majority of permits for the construction of residential buildings were traditionally issued in Chisinau municipality - 317 against 212 units for the same period a year earlier (+105 units, or +49.5%). In the development region "North", the number of permits issued for the construction of residential buildings increased over the specified period from 47 to 48 units (+2.1%). In the development region "Center", it remained at the level of last year - 136 units. In the South development region, it decreased from 46 to 34 units (-26.1%), and in the ATU Gagauzia it decreased from 38 to 28 units (-26.3%). According to official statistics, the number of permits issued for the construction of non-residential premises in Chisinau municipality in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, decreased from 39 to 32 units (-17.9%), in the North development region - decreased from 57 to 53 units (-7%), and in ATU Gagauzia - decreased from 43 to 34 units (-20.9%).
