The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, noting that, at the same time, the total area of residential premises (apartments and individual houses), put into operation in January-September 2021, amounted to 476.5 thousand square meters, and, compared to the same period in 2020, this figure also increased by 20%. According to official statistics, for 9 months in 2021, in the country as a whole, 4382 apartments with a total area of 300 thousand square meters were commissioned, which is 13.9% more relative to the indicators of the same period of 2020 in the number of apartments (in the same period a year earlier - 3846), as well as 16.9% more in area (256.5 thousand sq. m). At the same time, in January-September 2021, 1441 residential buildings with a total area of 176.5 thousand square meters were commissioned, which is 24% higher than the indicators of the same period of the previous year in terms of the number of such housing commissioned (a year earlier - 1162 units) and by 25.7% - in terms of area (a year earlier - 140.5 thousand sq. m.). According to the NBS, in urban areas of Moldova for 9 months in 2021, 4997 housing units were commissioned (for the same period a year earlier - 4317 units) with a total area of 375.3 thousand square meters (a year earlier - 317.1 thousand sq. m), which is 15.8% higher than the indicators of the same period of 2020 in terms of the number of housing and 18.4% in terms of area. In rural areas, in January-September 2021, 826 housing units were commissioned, which is 19.5% more than in the same period a year earlier (691 units), and its total area increased by 26.7% - from 79.9 thousand sq. m over 9 months in 2020 to 101.2 thousand sq. m over 9 months in 2021 At the same time, most of the housing was commissioned in January-September 2021 in Chisinau - 4665 units (up 14.9% compared to the same period in 2020) with a total area of 343.2 thousand sq. m (+ 17.8%).
