ANRE registered the first renewable energy community in the Renewable Energy Communities Register
According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), this marks an important moment in the transition to a sustainable and participatory energy system. In particular, the first renewable energy community registered by ANRE will operate in the village of Cociulia in the Cantemir district. This initiative represents a significant step in promoting local production and consumption of renewable energy with the active participation of citizens, small and medium-sized enterprises, and local authorities. The renewable energy community will enable its members to produce, consume, store, and share electricity from renewable sources, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the local community and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The purpose of a renewable energy community is to produce and use energy from renewable sources to meet the energy needs of the community's members or shareholders in a sustainable manner, creating environmental, economic, or social benefits for its members or shareholders or for the area in which it operates. The charter of the renewable energy community provides that, in order to achieve its agreed objective, the community shall develop projects and invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. Participation in this energy community is voluntary and open. Its members may be individuals, condominium owners' associations, small and medium-sized enterprises, villages and towns represented by their executive bodies, and end users, including vulnerable energy consumers. // 11.02.2026 — InfoMarket.
