According to her, Moldova has made significant progress in recent years, with installed renewable energy capacity reaching 858.5 MW, a historic record for our country. The State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy noted that programs such as EcoVoucher, Casa Verde, and energy rehabilitation projects for public and residential buildings demonstrate the authorities' commitment to building a sustainable future. "The energy transition is not just a technical goal, but a change in mentality. It is a joint effort that requires the participation of every citizen, local authorities, the business community, and our international partners," said Carolina Novac. Moldova's participation in EUSEW 2025 confirms the country's commitment to actively promote the achievement of European sustainable energy goals and to promote equitable development at the local level. As part of the initiative, 20 municipalities that have signed the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy held events dedicated to the green transition, which were attended by more than 10,000 citizens – children, young people, teachers, and local government representatives. In addition, 60 partner organizations supported educational activities, and more than 3,900 environmental materials were distributed in communities to promote sustainable behavior. In recognition of their achievements, 19 municipalities were awarded diplomas for outstanding achievements, and six settlements received certificates for the development of environmentally friendly projects, such as tree planting, installation of LED lighting, or the purchase of bicycles. // 23.10.2025 — InfoMarket.
