In Moldova, a new round of tenders for projects to build wind power plants with a total capacity of up to 173 MW and integrate energy storage solutions with a capacity of at least 44 MWh is scheduled for October

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, noting that the government recently approved the indicative calendar of the Action Plan for organizing tenders for obtaining the status of a large eligible producer for 2025-2026. The document was developed by the Ministry of Energy and sets out the stages, deadlines and institutional responsibilities for the implementation of this process. As noted by the Ministry of Energy, the next round of tenders for the construction of renewable energy installations is aimed at attracting investment in the renewable energy sector and energy storage solutions, contributing to the fulfillment of the government's strategic commitments in the field of energy transition. The calendar ensures predictability and transparency, providing investors, including international ones, with the necessary information to participate in the selection procedures on optimal terms. According to the approved calendar, the new round of tenders is scheduled for October and will cover projects for the construction of wind power plants with a total estimated capacity of up to 173 MW, as well as the integration of energy storage solutions of at least 44 MWh. This tender is a debut for Moldova, as it includes an energy storage component to increase the flexibility and reliability of the national energy system. The development of tender documentation and its coordination with the business environment are planned for the period from July to October. Submission of applications is scheduled for January-March 2026, and their evaluation and selection of winners - for June 2026. The Ministry of Energy is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Action Plan for the second tender, committing to quarterly reporting to the government on the progress achieved. In carrying out these activities, the Ministry of Energy enjoys technical assistance from the Energy Community Secretariat and the support of a team of consultants financed by the EBRD. // 09.07.2025 – InfoMarket
