Moldova will expand cooperation with the International Energy Agency in the field of energy efficiency, data exchange, and experience sharing
According to the Moldovan Ministry of Energy, this was discussed during a meeting between Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu and Mary Warlick, Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), at “The Future of Energy Security” international summit held in London at the end of last week. The parties reaffirmed the importance of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Berlin in March 2024, which provides for cooperation in the fields of energy efficiency, data and experience exchange, energy policy, and training of specialists. The parties agreed on priority actions for 2025, including: sending a young IEA specialist for a three-month internship at the Ministry of Energy, organizing a one-year internship for a Ministry of Energy employee at the IEA headquarters in Paris, and the participation of an IEA expert in a national conference on energy efficiency organized by the National Center for Sustainable Energy in September, and the participation of an IEA representative in the Moldova Energy Forum, which will take place in Chisinau on June 12. On April 24–25, Dorin Junghietu took part in “The Future of Energy Security” international summit held in London under the auspices of the UK government and the International Energy Agency. // 29.04.2025 — InfoMarket
