Moldova has set a new record for electricity production from renewable sources, with a share of 36% on April 14, according to the Ministry of Energy
State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Constantin Borosan, announced this noting that at midday on certain days there is a surplus of electricity produced from renewable sources. “The latest record for the share of renewable energy was set on April 14, 2025, at 36%! The previous record was set on March 18, 2025, at 29%,” Constantin Borosan emphasized. According to him, one solution for using surplus electricity from renewable sources could be charging electric vehicles, the number of which has increased in recent years. “We have 6,612 electric vehicles, plus tens of thousands of plug-in hybrid vehicles. The battery capacity is at least 50 kW/h, with an average of 80 kW/h. The charging device has a capacity of at least 7 kW. The most common type is Type 2 at 14 kW. With good organization of the business representing electric vehicle charging stations and associations of renewable energy producers, all surplus electricity can be easily used to charge electric vehicles. Thanks to efficient energy management, we can make the most of nature's power,” said the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy. //25.04.2025 – InfoMarket.
