The Ministry of Energy of Moldova called for accelerating the pace of construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power transmission line given its strategic importance
The ministry reported this, noting that the state secretary of the ministry, Constantin Borosan, visited the construction site of this power transmission line in the village of Cenac, Cimislia district, on February 17. After the number of workers increased and the weather conditions improved, the excavation work for the poles was moved to a new site, and next week a new team of specialists should arrive from Turkey to begin work at the new locations. Constantin Borosan emphasized the strategic importance of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power transmission line for ensuring the country's energy security, calling on the company's representatives to increase the pace of work and, with the improvement of weather conditions, to intensify their efforts. At this stage, about 22% of the construction and installation work has been completed; the construction site covers the ATU Gagauzia, Leova, Cahul, Taraclia and Cimislia districts. The overall progress of implementation, including design, supply, construction and installation, is about 50%. In fact, construction works were started in April 2024, after the preparation and approval of the technical project and the fulfillment of the conditions preceding the works. The materials and components necessary for the construction of the transmission line have been produced and supplied in the amount of 90%. The works on the transmission line are carried out by KEC International Limited, at the Chisinau substation - by the consortium of Siemens Energy - Electromontaj - Energotech, and at the Vulcanesti substation - by the consortium of Celin and Energobit.// 17.02.2025 — InfoMarket.
