Moldovan SMEs from the agrarian sector and retail trade may receive EU funding to reduce energy costs

Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization announced this, informing SMEs, public and private enterprises about the launch of a new call for projects under the EU Single Market Program, designed to facilitate the energy transition of SMEs by encouraging their participation in renewable energy communities. The aim of the program is to support the creation of local/regional renewable energy communities across the EU that bring together local SMEs in the agri-food and retail sectors and contribute to reducing and stabilizing energy costs for SME members. Assistance will be provided through advisory services that contribute to community building but may not be available to SMEs in the agri-food and retail sectors. SMEs in the agri-food and retail sectors; consortia of public or private organizations, including non-profit organizations can apply. They can receive financial assistance to build renewable energy communities locally or regionally; access consulting and advisory services to help understand and implement efficient energy solutions; reduce business energy costs; and contribute to the energy transition and environmental protection. A total of 3 projects will be funded with a budget of €2.9 million over 24 months. Applications will be accepted until February 20, 2025. // 05.12.2024 - InfoMarket
