Moldova will store about 15% of average annual natural gas consumption, of which more than 30% will be guaranteed reserves.
At a meeting on Wednesday, the government approved two resolutions related to obligations to create and maintain natural gas reserves in case of emergencies. According to calculations by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, which were presented by the Ministry of Energy, the total volume required to store natural gas is 149.5 million cubic meters. Of these, 47.1 million cubic meters are reserve reserves - a volume equivalent to 10 days of winter consumption. Previously, guarantee stocks covered 8 days of domestic consumption. Joint Stock Company "Energocom" is determined to be the enterprise responsible for concluding the necessary agreements and contracts with gas storage operators and will keep separate records of transactions concluded in connection with the creation and maintenance of security reserves. The Company will purchase natural gas intended to meet storage obligations through a competitive procurement process, trading platforms or through direct contracts. Volumes of gas for the formation of reserves will be purchased before October 1 of each calendar year and stored in warehouses of EU member states or the Energy Community.// 29.05.2024 — InfoMarket.
