Moldova: the level of losses in the country's gas system has halved over the last 3-4 years - to 16 million cubic meters - Moldovagaz.
Vadim Ceban, Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz reported this while speaking at the annual seminar in the field of metrology held under the auspices of Moldovagaz. According to him, if in 2019 the level of losses in the Moldovagaz gas system amounted to 32 million cubic meters, by 2023, this indicator in the gas distribution network managed to reduce to 16 million cubic meters, and this under the conditions of the then tariffs. The head of Moldovagaz said that in the next few years, it is quite realistic to reduce this figure by several million cubic meters more. "Another challenge will be the establishment of a free market of natural gas, as well as the conversion of consumption metering from cubic meters to energy units," he said. The annual seminar in the field of metrology, held under the auspices of Moldovagaz, is attended by about 100 employees of the Moldovan gas sector enterprises, including the left bank of the Nistru/Dniester River. Its agenda includes discussion of current legislative norms in the energy sector, among which are natural gas market rules, measures to reduce losses, modern solutions and standards in the field of metrology, as well as technical and commercial metering of natural gas consumption. The seminar participants get acquainted with the latest samples of gas metering equipment, including ultrasonic and rotary gas meters, pressure and temperature sensors, systems for remote collection of consumption readings and other equipment. Its program also includes a visit to the facilities of the Tiraspoltransgaz enterprise. The seminar is also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the National Agency for Energy Regulation, the State Inspectorate for Non-Food Products Surveillance and Consumer Protection, the National Institute of Metrology, the National Institute of Standardization and other organizations. The seminar is timed to coincide with the International Day of Metrology. // 22.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
