Moldova plans to attract investments of about 190 million euros by 2025 in the construction of wind power plants with a capacity of 105 MW and photovoltaic plants with a capacity of 60 MW.
The Ministry of Energy reported this, noting that these investments are planned to be attracted as a result of a tender to grant the status of a large eligible producer, the conditions for participation in which were previously simplified and de-bureaucratized by the government. Winning bidders will receive a guaranteed fixed price for 15 years for the electricity produced from wind farms and photovoltaic plants. As a result of this auction, investments of about 190 million euros are expected until 2025 in the construction of wind farms with a capacity of 105 MW and photovoltaic stations with a capacity of 60 MW. Following the planned commissioning of auctioned power plants, the share of electricity from renewable energy sources will increase from 10% at the end of 2023 to 16.6%, which will significantly contribute to achieving the national commitment to increase the share of electricity from renewable energy sources to 30% of renewable sources in final consumption by 2030. The Ministry of Energy also announced the start of a competition to select a representative of civil society to join the Competition Commission for granting the status of a large eligible producer. // 30.04.2024 – InfoMarket.
