The Moldovagaz company proposed that NAER, when calculating new tariffs, take into account the lower average annual gas purchase price of $482.59 per 1 thousand cubic meters.
This follows from the company’s materials posted on the website of the National Agency for Energy Regulation. At the same time, the dynamics of the average annual exchange rate of the national currency against the US dollar forecast for 2024 was maintained at the level of 18.04 lei per US dollar. It should be noted that the last time gas tariffs for Moldovagaz consumers changed was on February 23-rd, when the gas tariff for household consumers, including VAT, was reduced by 19.9% - from 18.07 to 14.47 lei per cubic meter. As NAER noted, then the energy regulator took into account the decrease in the average annual purchase price of natural gas from $750 to $518 per 1 thousand cubic meters. It should be noted that on April 26, the Moldovagaz company sent a new request to NAER to adjust the regulated prices for the supply of natural gas, proposing to reduce the gas tariff for household consumers by 8.9% - to 13.2 lei per cubic meter including VAT.
