Premier Energy proposed to increase the electricity tariff for its residential customers by 16%, from 2.39 to 2.77 lei per kWh.
In particular, the company sent a corresponding request to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) with a proposal to increase the tariff for its household consumers, whose electrical installations are connected to low-voltage (0.4 kW) distribution networks, by 16.1% (+38.41 baht) - from 239 to 277.41 bani per kWh (excluding VAT). At the same time, the tariff for Premier Energy customers whose electrical installations are connected to medium-voltage distribution grids (6; 10 kW) is proposed to increase by 18.4% (+31.4 bani) - from 171 to 202.41 bani per kWh, and for those whose electrical installations are connected to high-voltage distribution grids (35; 110 kW) - by 17.7% (+33.66 bani) - from 190 to 223.66 bani per kWh. Among the reasons for the requested tariff increase, the following factors were mentioned: electricity purchase prices based on the contract concluded with Energocom; costs and revenues related to imbalances in the period from June 2022 to December 2023; macroeconomic indicators specified in the updated Forecast of Basic Macroeconomic Indicators for 2023-2026, including the national currency exchange rate of 18.93 MDL/USD and the average annual consumer price index of 5%; current tariff for transportation services provided by Moldelectrica; current price for energy supplied by the central electricity supplier; distribution tariffs for 2024; basic costs, etc. The decision on tariffs' updating is to be taken by ANRE. As previously reported, the last adjustment of the electricity tariff was carried out by ANRE in November 2023, when the electricity tariffs for Premier Energy household consumers were reduced by 7%, to 2.39 lei per kWh and took effect on November 14, 2023, following the publication of ANRE decisions in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). // 02.02.2024 – InfoMarket
