
Energocom intends to establish long-term cooperation with the Greek company DEPA in the field of gas imports, including LNG from the United States.
This was announced by Victor Binzari, Interim Director of state-owned Energocom, at a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Greece George Tsunis and U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Kent D. Logsdon. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the U.S. Embassies in Chisinau and Athens, as well as experts from USAID, C4G and the EU Delegation. During the visit, they discussed Energocom's capacity building and its further international development, the results of the last 2 years of activity and development plans for the future, as well as the achievements and prospects of the energy sector in Moldova. U.S. Ambassadors to Greece and Moldova George Tsunis and Kent D. Logsdon highly appreciated Energocom's achievements and reiterated their willingness to continue providing the necessary support both to the state-owned company and to Moldova in order to overcome possible difficulties and to meet the challenges of ensuring the country's energy security. The head of Energocom emphasized the importance of the Trans-Balkan route as a source of diversification of gas supplies to Moldova and Central Europe, and expressed confidence that the commercial relations established with the Greek company DEPA will develop into a long-term cooperation in the gas import sector, including LNG. Victor Binzari also thanked the guests for the support provided by the United States through USAID programs in Moldova, especially in the energy sector, including MESA and C4G, reiterating the importance of the USAID experts' contribution to the development and strengthening of Energocom's capacities and enhancing Moldova's energy security. // 07.12.2023 - InfoMarket
