The membership agreement was signed by the president of ENTSO-E, Zbyněk Boldiš, and the interim director general of Moldelectrica, Sergiu Aparatu. According to the Moldovan state company, the accession to ENTSO-E represents a significant event for Moldelectrica and confirms its firm commitment to the European cooperation in the energy sector. The signing of this agreement marks an important step in strengthening Moldelectrica's relations with EU transmission operators and active participation in the development and implementation of European standards and practices in the energy sector. The successful emergency synchronization of the European Continental Power System with the networks of Moldova and Ukraine on March 16, 2022 demonstrated the technical competence of Moldelectrica's team and confirmed the need for consolidated cooperation within ENTSO-E to ensure energy security and energy stability in the region. With the signing of this agreement, Moldelectrica becomes an integral part of the European Community of Transmission System Operators, which aims to share knowledge, promote innovation and contribute to sustainable energy infrastructure in Europe. Sergiu Aparatu said that by joining ENTSO-E as an observer member, the company strengthens its relationship with transmission operators in Europe. "We are now part of a community that shares knowledge, experience and resources to ensure an efficient and sustainable energy network across the region," he said. For his part, ENTSO-E President Zbyněk Boldiš welcomed Moldelectrica to the European Association of Transmission System Operators on behalf of all members of the organization. "This agreement formalizes our support and solidarity with Moldelectrica and represents recognition of the efforts made to maintain the stability of Moldova's energy transmission system in difficult conditions. We look forward to significant cooperation and mark an important moment in the history of our Association with Moldelectrica as an observer member," he said.
