The Moldovagaz company informed gas consumers about the introduction of a single payment for those who change their supplier or terminate the supply contract.

As noted in its message, in accordance with the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations of Moldova dated May 31 and in derogation from Article 80, paragraph 3 of the Law on Natural Gas, in order to ensure a fair mechanism for collecting financial deviations from all end consumers, including those who changes the supplier or terminates the supply contract, a single payment is introduced. As of June 19, in the period from January to May 2023, the Moldovagaz company received 86 requests from non-residential consumers to change the supplier and reduce the contracted volumes of natural gas, of the total number of 24 are requests to change the supplier of natural gas, and of them 18 end-customers have completed the process of switching suppliers and their natural gas supply contract is in the process of termination (until May 31, 2023), 4 consumers have suspended the process of switching suppliers, and 2 consumers are in the process of switching suppliers of natural gas. In addition, 52 applications were received to reduce the volume of contracted natural gas from Moldovagaz, as well as partial purchases of the required volume of gas from suppliers on the free market, as well as 10 applications to reduce the volume of natural gas due to the suspension of production or the transition to alternative fuel. Moldovagaz has sent a single payment calculation to end-users requiring a change of supplier or termination of a natural gas supply contract in order to ensure a fair mechanism for collecting financial deviations according to the formula given in the above provision. According to the Regulations of the Commission for Emergency Situations dated May 31, Moldovagaz stopped accepting applications from end-users for the supply of natural gas to one consumption point on the basis of several contracts concluded with different natural gas suppliers.
