By the end of 2023, an information system for managing the energy consumption of public buildings will be created in Moldova.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, noting that the Embassy of the Netherlands will help our country in this. Now the database contains 4,500 public buildings with an area of more than 400 square meters, but this information is being specified. The public buildings energy management system developed by Green City Lab will include both data on administrators, beneficiaries of public buildings, and energy consumption data for the last three years in order to improve energy efficiency. In the case of 300 public buildings, an energy audit also needs to be carried out. Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov thanked the new Dutch Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Fred Duijn, for his help in creating the first public building information system in Moldova in terms of energy consumption. He noted that this database will help prioritize energy efficiency projects in the public sector: “Our immediate goal is to launch energy efficiency projects in both the public and residential sectors. In the case of public buildings, we want the money saved from energy efficiency improvements to be reinvested elsewhere. Therefore, this information system will help us to have an overall picture,” Victor Parlicov said. The head of the Ministry of Energy also noted the contribution of the Embassy of the Netherlands in our country to the development of the “First Signs” project implemented by the Independent Analytical Center Expert-Grup, within which energy audits were carried out in 10 residential buildings, and in the case of one of them, they will co-finance infrastructure improvements for more efficient energy consumption. “We propose that thanks to such energy efficiency projects, provided subsidies, we reduce bills,” added the Minister of Energy. At the same time, Victor Parlicov thanked the Netherlands for helping Moldova in critical moments of the energy crisis, providing political support, expert and financial assistance aimed at diversifying energy supply sources and improving energy security. For example, in October 2021, Moldova made its first gas purchases on the international market with the support of the Netherlands. // 16.06.2023 — InfoMarket.
