Premier Energy has shut down 4 non-strategic consumption points of Apă-Canal Chișinău due to unpaid debts.

As noted in the message of Premier Energy, the total debt of the water supplier is already 51 million lei, of which 18 million lei are due to overdue invoices. Premier Energy noted that they are sympathetic to the difficult financial situation of Apă-Canal Chișinău, specifying that they are obliged, first of all, to ensure the reliability of the supply of electricity to all consumers. The company sent Apă-Canal Chișinău, state institutions and local authorities a number of messages to overcome the situation, through which they requested to find solutions to pay the accumulated electricity debt. But, unfortunately, the situation has not changed. At the same time, Premier Energy clarifies that in the context of the current crisis in the energy system of Moldova and in the energy market in general, due to the continuous increase in wholesale prices for the purchase of electricity and the uncertainty with the sources of its purchase, electricity suppliers face difficulties in collecting payments, which creates a significant liquidity deficit. Thus, in this difficult situation, Premier Energy does not have sufficient financial strength to continue additional support for Apă-Canal Chișinău. Premier Energy emphasized, in particular, that if the debts of its customers continue to accumulate, then, in turn, the supplier will not be able to fit into the payment schedule for the purchased electricity. Premier Energy expressed the hope that the difficulties that have arisen will be overcomed by joint efforts.// 06.01.2023 — InfoMarket
