The state-owned company Energocom has announced tenders for the purchase of gas to the country from alternative suppliers.

The company this week announced tenders to identify suppliers of natural gas to the Moldovan border from Ukraine (via the delivery point in Alexeevca) and / or Romania (via the delivery point Ungheni). The company is considering, among other things, proposals for short-term purchases of gas in the amount of up to 5 million cubic meters. The purchase will be carried out at a price linked to the average daily exchange gas quotes (TTF Day Ahead Mid Argus). Gas will be purchased on a prepaid basis every 1-2 days. All tender documents, including draft contracts drawn up on the terms of the European Federation of Energy Traders, are published on the company's website. According to the Moldovan government, in the period from October 1 to October 21, the gas deficit in the Moldovan gas market amounted to 0.6-1.1 million cubic meters per day (16.47 million cubic meters out of 80-90 million cubic meters required for the adequate functioning of the gas system). This week Moldovatransgaz informed NAER and other competent authorities about the imbalance in the natural gas networks, which endanger the functional entire gas system of the country. The company warned about a critical level of pressure in transmission networks and informed about the need for urgent intervention of the Emergency Situations Commission of Moldova to make decisions that would allow starting the purchase of balancing services in the natural gas market with certain deviations from the Natural Gas Market Rules. In turn, the Moldovagaz company announced the need to introduce the obligation of the state-owned company Energocom to ensure the purchase of gas from alternative suppliers in order to cover the constantly growing shortage of natural gas. These powers were given to the enterprise by the decision of the National Commission for Emergency Situations on 13 October. According to the government, according to Moldovagaz calculations, Moldova needs about 148 million cubic meters of gas in November, including 63.2 million cubic meters- for protected consumers. At the same time, from November 2021 to April 2022, the country needs 964 million cubic meters of gas, including 463.11 million cubic meters for protected consumers.//22.10.2021 — InfoMarket.
