Moldovan authorities extend the term for the import of oil products through the Transnistrian region until December 31, 2021.
The corresponding draft government decree was considered at a meeting of state secretaries. Amendments to the government decree "On some aspects of the import of oil products across the eastern border" initiated by the Ministry of Economy provide for the extension of the deadline for the import of oil products through the Novosavitskaya-Cuciurgan checkpoint, established earlier until June 30, 2021, for another six months, ensuring the possibility of their customs clearance at the customs post Bender 2. Let us recall that since August 2016, Ukraine has suspended the supply of oil products to the Transnistrian region by rail through the Kolbasna-Slobodka and Novosavitskaya-Cuciurgan checkpoints located on the Transnistrian section of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The movement of cargo with fuel was redirected through the Ocnita checkpoint. Later the cargo was delivered to the Ribnita and Bender 2 railway stations. After discussions with the Ukrainian authorities and due to agreements, as well as on the basis of requests from fuel importers, the Cabinet of Ministers of Moldova on November 9, 2016 allowed companies to import oil products again through the Transnistrian region, through the Bender-2 customs post, while carrying out customs clearance at Novosavitskaya-Cuciurgan checkpoint. This decision was adopted on a temporary basis until December 31, 2016, but subsequently this period was extended every six months. // 08.06.2021 – InfoMarket
