The average price of gasoline imports to Moldova in 2020 decreased in US dollar terms by 30.8% - from $633.3 per ton in January to $438.4 per ton in December.

The average price of gasoline imports to Moldova in 2020 decreased in US dollar terms by 30.8% - from $633.3 per ton in January to $438.4 per ton in December.

Such data are cited in the report of the National Energy Regulatory Agency on the import of petroleum products last year. As noted, in January 2020, the average price of gasoline imports to our country was $633.3 per ton, in February - $583.4 per ton, in March - $475.8, in April - $218.7 per ton, in May - $237.1 per ton, in June - $354.3 per ton, in July - $404.5 per ton, in August - $406.4 per ton, in September - $412.6 per ton, in October - $409.4 per ton, in November - $397.2 per ton, and in December - $438.4 per ton. Thus, its maximum value last year was recorded in January - $633.3 per ton. The ANRE specifies that a significant decrease in the average import price in April to $218.7 per ton was due to a sharp decline in prices and demand for gasoline in the world exchanges amid restrictions imposed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, later prices on international fuel exchanges increased against the backdrop of the OPEC agreement on the reduction of oil production, signed by the main oil-producing countries. As a result, in June 2020, the average import price for a ton of gasoline increased compared to the previous two months, reaching $354.3 per ton and continued to grow further, reaching $438.4 per ton as of the end of the year. At the same time, in MDL terms, the average price of gasoline imports to Moldova in 2020 decreased by 29.7% - to 7771 lei per ton. In January 2020, it amounted to 11054 lei per ton, in February - 10277 lei, in March - 8374 lei, in April - 3957 lei, in May - 4223 lei, in June - 6281 lei, in July - 7170 lei, in August - 7205 lei, in September - 7315 lei, in October - 7257 lei, in November - 7040 lei, and in December - 7771 lei per ton. // 19.04.2021 – InfoMarket
