Moldovagaz started delivering natural gas to Moldova from the Ukrainian underground storage facilities, where it was in the “customs warehouse” regime.
This is reported by the Ukrainian media with reference to the data of LLC "Operator GTS of Ukraine" (OGTSU). As noted, thus, for the first time, Ukraine is exporting relatively large volumes of gas to Moldova - in the first 6 days (from March 24), 26 million cubic meters of natural gas were exported. According to the publication ExPro, in March Moldovagaz plans to import a total of about 30 million cubic meters of gas for Moldovan consumers. At the same time, at the end of the last year, the Moldovan GTS operator stored 50 million cubic meters of natural gas in Ukrainian UGS facilities. Earlier it was reported that Moldovagaz began supplying gas for storage in Ukrainian UGS facilities in October 2020; in general, the company planned to pump about 100 million cubic meters of gas. Vadim Ceban, Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz, said in an interview with Eurasia.Expert that in 2020 Moldovagaz for the first time pumped tens of millions of cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine, and this was done in order to prepare reserve stocks in case of cold winter and peak consumption growth, and at the same time not go beyond the volumes specified in the gas purchase contract. “In addition, this approach should be considered as accumulation of logistics experience in similar regional projects,” said Vadim Ceban. He stressed that the natural gas market is developing dynamically, and in order to maintain the position on it, each of its participants needs to change their management approaches. “We are ready to work with all partners and discuss any proposals, including price proposals,” said the head of Moldovagaz. // 30.01.2021 - InfoMarket.
