Premier Energy, Premier Energy Distribution, Moldelectrica, RED Nord and FEE-Nord are re-tendering electricity purchases in 2021.

According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), an insufficient number of applications were submitted within the framework of the first tender: if a minimum of 3 applications was required to comply with market competition standards, RED Nord, FEE-Nord and Moldelectrica received only 1 offer each, and Premier Energy and Premier Energy Distribution - 2 offers each. In this regard, all enterprises decided to cancel the results of tenders and organize repeated ones for the purchase of electricity in 2021, starting from April 1. Applications are accepted until March 22. Electricity procurement procedures must be carried out in strict accordance with the Market Rules approved by the National Energy Regulatory Agency on August 7, 2020, as a result of cooperation with the Secretariat of the Energy Community. The application of these rules and procedures is part of the 3rd Energy Package. As noted by ANRE, the tender helps to increase the level of competition in the segment of the wholesale electricity market by establishing a continuous qualification process for potential bidders and diversifying the products sold, both in terms of quantity and time. The ANRE also stated that, along with the Secretariat of the Energy Community, they constantly monitor the process of purchasing electricity and are ready to intervene immediately if the security of the electricity supply is threatened. // 18.03.2021 - InfoMarket.
