The revenue from sales of the Moldavian State District Power Plant - Moldavskaya GRES in 2020 in Russian rubles amounted to 12 billion 548 million ($ 169.5 million at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation), an increase of 20.8% compared to 2019.

Such data are contained in the materials of the financial statements for the specified period of the Inter RAO group, which includes the Moldavian State District Power Plant located in the Transnistrian region (Dnestrovsc). According to the information provided, EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of Moldavskaya GRES grew by about 5% over the year - from 3 billion 316 million rubles in 2019 up to 3 billion 481 million rubles in 2020. According to Inter RAO, Moldavskaya GRES achieved growth in performance last year due to an increase in prices and volumes of electricity supplies amid a weakening ruble. As InfoMarket agency previously reported, Moldavskaya GRES in 2020, in comparison with 2019, increased electricity production by 10.5% - up to 4 billion 688.96 kWh. At the same time, the utilization factor of the station's installed capacity (2520 MW) increased over the year from 19.22% to 21.18%. As noted at the Moldavskaya GRES, the increase in electricity generation is associated with an increase in the volume of electricity supplies to the right bank of the Dniester and an increase in consumption by enterprises of Transnistria, in particular, the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant. In particular, consumers of Transnistria in 2020 received from the Moldavskaya GRES about 1 billion 124.6 million kWh of electricity, which is 3% more than in 2019. Herewith, supplies to the right-bank Moldova amounted to 3 billion 251.3 million kWh, which is 14% more than a year earlier. Moldavskaya GRES is located in Transnistria on the western bank of the Cuciurgan estuary. The installed capacity of the power plant is 2520 MW. The first stage of the Moldavskaya GRES was commissioned in 1964. The power plant consists of 12 power units and operates on three types of fuel: coal, gas and fuel oil. Moldavskaya GRES is 100% owned by Inter RAO Group, a diversified energy holding operating in various segments of the power industry in Russia and abroad. // 02.03.2021 — InfoMarket.
