ANRE demands not to speculate on the subject of a possible rise in electricity prices.
Thus, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) commented on the information that appeared in some media about a possible rise in the price of electricity tariffs by 25%. In particular, ANRE drew attention to the fact that so far only the operator Moldelectrica announced the completion of the procedure for purchasing electricity in the amount of 61 GWh, which is less than 3% of the domestic market. Most of the license holders are in the active phase of negotiations on prices and contractual terms for the supply of electricity to domestic and non-domestic consumers in the country. Due to the absence of at least 3 bids from prequalified companies at the auction, all electricity market operators canceled the auctions on March 16 this year, announcing their re-holding on March 22. The results of the auctions, their prices and the impact on tariffs and end-users will have to be reported to ANRE or electricity companies immediately. The Electricity Law stipulates that the renewal of regulated prices and electricity tariffs during the year can only take place if the deviations exceed 5% of the annual cost of electricity distribution and supply set in regulated tariffs / prices for end users. If the electricity market operators consider that the change in the purchase price for electricity meets the necessary prerequisites for revising the regulated tariffs / prices, they submit to ANRE a request for adjusting the regulated tariffs / prices and calculations carried out in accordance with the provisions of the current tariff methodology approved by the ANRE. The Agency's Board of Directors reviews requests from utilities for a maximum of 180 days to check if the calculations presented support the need for adjustments to regulated tariffs / prices. // 23.03.2021 - InfoMarket.
