In the formula for determining the gas price for Moldova in the warm season, Gazprom will take into account the current situation in the German gas hub NCG.
According to the press service of Moldovagaz, the corresponding amendments to the current contract were approved at an extraordinary meeting of the company's shareholders. The new conditions will apply in the second and third quarters of the year, which account for about 20% of the annual consumption of natural gas. At the same time, in the first and fourth quarters of the year, the purchase price formula will remain the same, based on a quarterly link to the situation on the diesel fuel and fuel oil market. This will make it possible to supply consumers, including enterprises of the heat and power complex, with gas at more favorable prices in comparison with the spot market. So, on January 13, 2021, gas quotes at the NCG hub reached $ 330 per 1,000 cubic meters, excluding transportation costs. For comparison, the average annual purchase price in the tariff approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation is more than half that. Moldovagaz notes that by the end of 2020, the average annual purchase price from Gazprom was $ 148.87, including transportation costs to the border of Moldova. At the same time, on the NCG hub, it would have reached $ 187.93. As a result, the purchase of gas from Gazprom on the basis of a long-term contract made it possible to save about $ 44 million. The extraordinary meeting of shareholders also approved an annex to the contract between Gazprom and Moldovagaz on the conditions for the transit of natural gas through the country. Among other things, it involves pumping over 417 million cubic meters of gas in the first quarter of this year in the direction of the gas metering station "Orlovka". // 29.01.2021 — InfoMarket.
