Parliament of Moldova will hold public hearings on February 3 to discuss the topic of increased prices for imported oil products.
The press service of the supreme legislative body reported this, noting that the discussions will take place on the platform of the Profile Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance. The proposal to hold public hearings in the parliament regarding the prices of fuel imported to Moldova was put forward by the independent MP Alexandru Oleinic, and it was supported by the members of the above-mentioned profile commission. The reason for the hearings was the increase in prices for oil products, which, according to the MPs, was an agreed decision of the operators. Representatives of the oil products market, responsible authorities and civil society will be invited to the parliamentary hearings. Based on the results of the debate, a decision will be adopted - either to create a commission of inquiry, or to change the legislative framework in order to exclude the possibility of abuse in this area. The ultimate goal is to improve the competitive environment in this market, including by reducing the impact of negative trends on all consumers of petroleum products. // 28.01.2021 - InfoMarket.
