18 international traders got access to the natural gas transportation system of Moldova.

Vadim Ceban, Chairman of Moldovagaz Board, told reporters about this, noting that among them there are the following companies: Gazprom, the Operator of the Gas Transportation System of Ukraine (ОГТСУ), LLC Energy Trade Group, ERU Management Services, ERU Trading, Private Limited Company TNN, AIK -Energy Ukraine, Alpes Handels GmbH, Natural Gaz DC, TAS Energy Country, Trafigura Trading Sarl, UK-Metalex Limited, U.COMMODITIES, Energy Trade Group, SD Energy Enginering Group, Onico Energia Sp.z oo S.K.A., Central Energy Trade and Energy Trade Group. Vadim Ceban said that the tariff for gas transportation in the reverse mode is still relatively high and amounts to $11.7 for pumping 1,000 cubic meters per 100 km., since the volume of gas transportation in 2020 amounted to only about 870 million cubic meters. According to him, the reduction in the tariff correlates with the increase in the volume of natural gas transportation. So, for 2021, the transit portfolio is outlined at the level of 3 billion cubic meters per year and, accordingly, the approximate tariff will be approximately $4.25 for pumping 1 thousand cubic meters per 100 km. Earlier, the head of the Moldovagaz Management Board noted that the company plans to partially compensate for the reduction in revenues from the transit of Russian gas to the Balkans by providing services for gas reverse, gas transportation from Bulgaria and Romania to Ukraine and vice versa. He noted that contracts have been signed with international traders interested in using Moldova's gas transportation system for gas supplies to other countries, and, according to preliminary forecasts, at the first stage, the volume of such gas pumping through Moldova could reach 3 billion cubic meters per year. Vadim Ceban recalled that at the end of the last year, Moldovagaz managed to create an alternative route for the supply of natural gas to Moldova (reverse) through the Trans-Balkan corridor, and today the gas reverse is already functional, it is possible to carry out physical reverse, and soon virtual reverse will also be possible. “Reverse gas supplies will be carried out according to European rules. We have signed with the Operator of the Gas Transportation System of Ukraine (ОГТСУ) all the necessary agreements on all points of interconnection and these agreements comply with European rules. All international traders can already work with us and with the Ukrainian operator according to European rules. All standard interconnection procedures have been implemented, and we have provided the international traders with access to the gas transportation network, to the main gas networks, which is important for the development of the market. We are ready to work with them through the physical and virtual reverse method for transporting gas from Bulgaria and Romania to Ukraine and, conversely, from Ukraine to Romania and Bulgaria. These opportunities now exist, we think that in this way we will be able to win back some volume of gas transportation lost after the launch of the Turkish Stream implementation, which led to a drop in revenues from gas transportation along the traditional route,” said Vadim Ceban. // 24.12.2020 - InfoMarket.
