
Imports of energy resources to Moldova in January-September 2020 amounted to $426.4 million in monetary terms, having decreased by 35.9%, compared to the same period in 2019.
The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, in particular, over 9 months of 2020, compared to the same period of the previous year, imports of oil and petroleum products in value terms decreased by 36.6% - to $274.03 million, and natural gas - decreased by 29.4% - to $132.82 million. Electricity imports decreased by 73.8%, amounting to $8.11 million. Supplies of coal, coke and briquettes over the same period decreased by 19.6% - to $12.44 million. The share of mineral fuel in the total volume of Moldovan imports in January-September 2020 was 11.13% against 15.57% in the same period a year earlier. The import of energy resources ranked 5th in the overall structure of product supplies to Moldova for 9 months of 2020.
