Fuel prices have increased in Moldova this weekend.

Most of the filling stations in Moldova have increased prices for gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied gas by 0.4-0.6 lei. Thus, the cost of a liter of gasoline at filling stations reaches 16.05-16.15 lei, diesel fuel 13.45-13.65 lei, and the cost of gas - 9.32-9.35 lei. Let us remind that, earlier InfoMarket agency reported that in December 2020 and January 2021 prices for oil products are expected to rise by 3-5%. This is due to the rise in world prices for Brent crude in early summer and their further growth in the third decade of November (prices reach $48.73). The world expects to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic after the start of vaccination and revive economic activity. Most market participants note that during the pandemic, in addition to a sharp decline in sales, companies incurred losses at points of sale (when trading was prohibited), while almost all operators talk about retaining staff, which is the main item of current expenses, amid a decrease in volumes sales by about 15-20%. Sales of petroleum products dropped sharply, especially at filling stations located near the border crossing points of Moldova. Market operators forecast that starting from January 1, 2021, due to the increase in excise taxes provided by the fiscal policy for the next year, retail gasoline prices may increase by another 3% (about 0.5 lei); diesel fuel prices - by 2% (about 0.25 lei); liquefied gas prices - by 1% (about 0.12 lei). // 14.12.2020 - InfoMarket.
