The CEC has announced a number of special conditions for voting in the general local elections to be held on November 5, 2023.
The Central Election Commission draws the attention of citizens to the fact that the right to vote is exercised in the locality where the voter lives. If a voter has a permanent residence permit and a temporary one, he/she votes at the polling station located in the area of his/her temporary residence permit. If the term of the document indicating the temporary place of residence has expired, the voter votes in the locality of his/her permanent residence. At the same time, according to the new provisions of the Electoral Code, the period for registering a place of residence or temporary residence cannot be less than three months before the date of the first vote. This means that voters who received a temporary registration or registration in another constituency later than August 5, 2023 will not be able to vote in the general local elections. In addition, these persons will not be able to vote at the place of their previous residence. These restrictions do not apply to presidential and parliamentary elections.//24.07.2023 – InfoMarket.
