
General local elections will be held in Moldova on November 5.
The date of the general local elections was approved by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) at a meeting on June 4. This decision will take effect on August 7, when the election period officially begins. The election campaign will begin after the registration of candidates, but not earlier than 30 days before the date of the elections. In the near future, the CEC will develop and approve a calendar of events for the organization and conduct of general local elections. According to the CEC, 3 million 299,973 eligible voters are registered in the State Voter Register, of which 2 million 768,816 citizens are registered in the administrative territorial units of II level. Most of the voters are in Chisinau municipality (651,28 thousand), ATU Gagauzia (129,68 thousand), Balti municipality (100,57 thousand), Cahul municipality (97,57 thousand), Hincesti district (96,76 thousand) etc. In the Transnistrian region there are 270,66 thousand voters entitled to vote, another 260,5 thousand voters are those with Moldovan citizenship who do not have a residence permit or domicile in the country, including those who have emigrated abroad. // 04.07.2023 - InfoMarket.
