Wines from Moldova were widely represented in Italy at the 34th wine festival in Merano, in the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol)
The opening of this prestigious international wine culture event was attended by Moldova's Ambassador to Italy Oleg Nica and Moldova's Consul General in Padua Vadim Zmeu. The festival, held on November 7-8 in Merano, brought together producers, experts, and wine lovers from around the world, seeking to promote best practices, quality, and authentic traditions in the wine industry. This year, the festival featured wines from a number of Moldovan producers selected and awarded by the Merano Wine Festival: I'M Winery, Purcari, Fautor, Castel Mimi, Crama Mircesti, and Chateau Vartely. On this occasion, Rai Südtirol TV channel aired a report dedicated to the traditions and culture of winemaking in Moldova, and Ambassador Oleg Nica emphasized in an interview that Moldova's presence at the Merano Wine Festival is a confirmation of the outstanding quality of our wines, which are a source of pride for our country. According to him, Moldova's participation in such international events contributes to strengthening the country's image as a producer of authentic and high-quality wines, as well as to the development of economic and cultural ties with international partners.
