The second Moldovan wine exhibition was held on November 4 in Tokyo to strengthen their position in the Japanese market

According to the National Office of Vine and Wine and the Moldovan Embassy in Japan, the event, held in B2B and B2C formats, was attended by 24 manufacturing companies, which presented more than 200 bottles of still and sparkling wines, as well as divin (cognac) from Moldova, Japanese wine importers and sommeliers, as well as a number of friends of our country from the parliament, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and JICA. This year, the event, organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine with the support of the Wine of Moldova team in Japan, was attended by guests of honor who actively promote Moldovan wines in Japan: Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry Sergiu Gherciu; Moldovan Ambassador to Japan Dumitru Socolan; Chairman of the Japan-Moldova Parliamentary Friendship Group Yoshimasa Hayashi; Director of the Sakura Award Yumi Tanabe. At the beginning of the event, Dumitru Socolan told those present about the growing popularity of our wines on the Japanese market, as evidenced by the significant increase in the volume and value of exports this year. "This is also facilitated by the initiative launched in 2022 to create an organization specializing in the promotion of Moldovan wines in Japan. Since April 2024, this organization, Wine of Moldova Japan, has been operating successfully thanks to our compatriot Elena Endo," said the head of the diplomatic mission. According to him, Moldova's participation in this year's International Exhibition in Osaka made Moldovan wines even more visible in Japan: more than half a million people visited the exhibition. Attending the opening of the 2nd Wine of Moldova Vernissage in Tokyo, the chairman of the Moldova Friendship Group in the Japanese National Parliament, as well as the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Yoshimasa Hayashi, noted the importance of such events for establishing and strengthening ties between our countries, noting the growing interest of Japanese consumers in quality wines and calling on those present to become ambassadors of Moldovan wine. The event was organized by Wine of Moldova Japan with the support of the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV). “We have once again demonstrated that Moldovan wine has its own unique character and quality and occupies a worthy place in the Japanese market,” the ONVV emphasized. // 05.11.2025 — InfoMarket
